Five Homes Built in Tuscaloosa

From Alabama’s 13:
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –

A big check donated in Tuscaloosa is helping build homes for five different people.

Lowe’s Home Improvement has donated $400,000 to the Tuscaloosa branch of Habitat for Humanity. Their donation also includes volunteers to help build the five houses they are helping fund.

You don’t have to be left with rubble to be dramatically impacted by last year’s tornado.

That is the case for Jessie Hill. Her home was not destroyed, but severely damaged by the storm. But volunteers from Lowes are helping build her a new place to rest her head — in the exact same spot that the former home stood.

“It’s challenging sometimes to figure out what you can do, but when everyone comes together they can make a big difference,” said Cecilia Cabeza, store manager of the Northport Lowe’s.
